Thermal Hardening

Thermal hardening is a special process that involves exposure of glass optical components to heat in order to achieve the following properties:

• High impact resistance
• High flexural strength
• High scratch resistance
• High thermal shock resistance

Thermally hardened aspheres for fog lights, to mention one example, can be integrated directly into the body, bumper or air dam of a vehicle with or without protective covers.
