Moldmaking

Docter Optics moldmakers deliver the molds for all aspheres, free-form lenses, lens arrays and many other optical components that are produced by Docter Optics, initially as samples and then in large quantities. Our moldmaking shop features advanced equipment, including high-speed cutting (HSC) machines, CNC machining centers and spark erosion machines. In order to achieve maximum precision, production also takes place in a climate-controlled environment.

All processes are accompanied by appropriate testing procedures in order to ensure consistently accurate contours and document results. 2D/3D coordinate measuring machines and structured-light 3D scanning are used for this purpose.
