FREE-FORM LENSES

Today, the design of most projection headlights is still based on the use of round aspheres. As a result, it is not surprising that developers and designers are looking for different possibilities that they can use to create their own visual language.

The Docter Optics press technology permits virtually complete freedom when it comes to the choice of lens contours and geometry. Free-form surfaces are just as possible as other shapes that deviate from the basic round form. In addition, all optical surfaces can be included in the new lens design.

Fresnel lenses represent a special case since these lenses make it possible to achieve special daylight design effects on the one hand and on the other hand take up less room and also weigh less.
